Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a CT Technologist for the 05501 GCMG Imaging Center: Kenilworth. The role involves CT scanning, patient preparation, IV contrast administration, and collaboration with Radiology staff to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety.

Qualifications include ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB, ARRT CT registry, and BLS. Full-time position with rotating shifts and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB; ARRT CT advanced registry.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Examine requests and verify orders; refer to Radiologist for discrepancies.
• Identify patients and prepare them for procedures with explanations.
• Gather medical history from EMRs and requisitions; correlate results.
• Take responsibility for the exam from start to report.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast; document type and amount.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed.
• Assist in patient care and support life-saving measures when necessary.
• Perform CT scanning and assist during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Retrieve medications or contrast as directed by licensed practitioners.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines to protect staff and patients.
• Report equipment malfunctions and maintain safety standards.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and assist other medical personnel.
