Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures, including advanced techniques and contrast administration, while ensuring patient safety and image quality. You will verify orders, prepare patients, and work with radiologists to optimize imaging and ensure accurate documentation.

The role requires Wisconsin licensure, ARRT registrations (RT and CT), BLS certification within 6 months, and at least 2 years of CT experience, with strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
• Typically requires 2 years of experience in a CT Technologist role.
• Wisconsin Radiographer license and ARRT RT registration; ARRT CT registration; BLS required within 6 months.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills; ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and radiation safety.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with transfers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment to perform diagnostic procedures including advanced CT techniques (scrub CT guided invasive procedures, angiography, cerebral, PET/CT, 3D reformats).
• Obtain patient history, verify orders, ensure exam accuracy and safety.
• Position patients, select scanning factors, provide radiation protection per regulatory requirements.
• Prepare/administer contrast media under Radiologist direction; assist in scanning techniques.
• Post-process images, label with patient data and study location; ensure accurate billing codes.
• Maintain records and enter data into the RIS; perform QA and calibrations; report equipment issues.
• Serve as a resource/mentor for staff and students; collaborate with departments for education on procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and transporting, lifting as required.
• Provide age-appropriate care following department policies and growth/development considerations.
