Job summary

King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division is seeking a Capital Project Manager IV to lead large, multi-discipline wastewater infrastructure projects. You will coordinate King County staff and consultants, collaborating with Seattle Public Utilities, permitting, regulatory agencies and tribal partners.

The role requires facilitating dialogue among diverse contributors, navigating technical and political challenges, and ensuring projects meet regulatory schedules in Seattle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in project/program management, engineering, environmental studies, construction management, business administration or closely related field or combination of education and experience.
  • 1–4 years of progressively responsible experience as a capital project manager for large infrastructure projects.
  • PMI certifications or equivalent experience; strong knowledge of PMI processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall team leadership of complex, high-risk wastewater capital projects from concept through final implementation.
  • Lead and direct large, high-priority capital projects with significant resources and integration.
  • Develop and manage capital project scope, schedule, budget, and contract requirements; oversee design, procurement and construction phases.
  • Write scopes of work for RFPs and contracts; negotiate contracts with procurement.
  • Support/lead negotiations with partners in delivery efforts.
  • Represent WTD in internal and external communication and coordination efforts.
