Job summary

zerohash is seeking a Senior Settlement & Trading Operations Engineer to own the day‑to‑day settlement and trading operations for crypto and fiat movements. You will resolve complex breaks, write SQL against production logs, and coordinate releases with Product and Engineering while mentoring peers.

The role requires 5–8 years in financial operations, proficiency in Python and SQL, and experience with AI tooling for automation and documentation. Remote work within the United States is supported.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in financial operations, settlement, payments, or related back‑office role; mentorship or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong Python skills: write, debug, and maintain data scripts, REST API integration.
• Strong SQL: multi‑table joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions on large data.
• Familiar with AI tooling (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) for coding, debugging, and docs.
• API fluency and experience using Postman against production systems.
• Attention to detail with financial consequences; clear communication to engineers and non‑tech stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own daily settlement and trading operations for crypto and fiat movements; ensure accurate processing within windows.
• Run reconciliations across ledgers, bank statements, and partner files; diagnose and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage trade lifecycle from execution to settlement; handle safe, idempotent adjustments in production.
• Develop runbooks and dashboards; monitor liquidity and operational health.
• Automate repetitive tasks with Python for reconciliations and go‑live validations.
• Support partner go‑lives and asset listings; validate features in lower environments.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering; leverage AI tooling to draft scripts and docs.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and provide off‑hours coverage.
