Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Test Technician with deep expertise in helium mass spectrometry leak detection to support inspection and qualification of cryogenic and high-pressure systems. You will ensure leak-tight hardware and data quality for safe spaceflight.

You will develop leak test procedures, operate detectors, troubleshoot leaks, mentor junior technicians, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on helium mass spectrometry leak detection experience.
• 8+ years of instrumentation and data acquisition experience.
• Familiarity with leak test standards such as ASTM E499/E498 and ASME BPVC Section V.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead helium mass spectrometry leak detection on cryogenic/high-pressure systems.
• Develop, validate leak test procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Operate and maintain leak detectors and vacuum equipment.
• Diagnose leak paths; document results per specs and quality requirements.
• Mentor junior technicians and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols when handling cryogenics and gases.
