Job summary

Fathem Inc. is seeking a Cryo-EM (Senior) Scientist to independently process cryo-EM data and deliver high-quality structural insights end-to-end.

The role requires deep hands-on experience with cryo-EM processing platforms and the ability to communicate results clearly in collaborative, client-facing settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in RELION, cryoSPARC, and cisTEM, with a strong background in biochemistry or biophysics.

Qualifications

• Independently process cryo-EM data using established tools.
• Build and refine atomic models.
• Communicate results clearly in team and client settings.
• Deep practical understanding of single-particle cryo-EM.
• Experience across multiple resolutions and applications.
• Experience presenting technical work to stakeholders.
• Strong background in biochemistry/biophysics/cell biology.
• Ability to operate within existing software tools without owning their development.
• Experience with diverse projects and adaptability.
• Creative, proactive approach to advancing capability and throughput.

Responsibilities

• Process datasets from raw movies to validated reconstructions.
• Build, refine and interpret atomic models.
• Apply and troubleshoot established workflows.
• Learn and use internally developed software tools as a primary user.
• Interpret results in context of data quality and experimental limits; communicate implications.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Collaborate with experimental, computational, and software teams.
