Medtronic plc in Minneapolis seeks a Principal Software Engineer focused on automated test development for implantable cardiac devices. You will migrate LabVIEW tests to Python and C#, build DLLs, and drive AI-enabled test infrastructure while collaborating with design, systems, and test engineers.

The role requires strong C#, .NET, Python skills, and a track record of leading architecture decisions in a regulated medical-device setting. Onsite 5 days a week with rigorous quality processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Deep expertise in Python, C#, .NET development and software architecture.
• Experience using Reflection and Custom Attributes for extensible frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge of LINQ for data querying and transformation.
• Experience developing reusable DLLs and APIs for LabVIEW, Python, and hardware.
• Strong hardware/software interaction understanding and debugging skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering requirements and deliver software solutions.
• Experience applying AI to software development and validation.
• Experience in regulated medical device environments and traceability.
• Willingness to work onsite 5 days a week.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain software and architecture for automated test systems.
• Define interface design and integration strategies for test automation platforms.
• Transition LabVIEW-based tests to Python and C# frameworks; apply AI tools.
• Develop C# apps in Visual Studio, producing DLLs for LabVIEW/Python integration.
• Create automated test frameworks interfacing with hardware, firmware, and data stores.
• Lead architectural decisions, reviews, and CI/CD processes; ensure quality compliance.
