Data Engineering Technical Lead/Liaison, Quality AI & Data Science - Minneapolis, MN

This role will support AI Engineers in Core Quality Services and Business Process Stakeholders in all steps to create and deliver new solutions, measure value, and drive strategic vision. This role requires on-site work at a Medtronic facility four days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, initiate, monitor, track and/or prioritize engineering team product development programs or projects and facilitate successful, on-time and within-budget execution.
  • Set clear direction and management that aligns with defined practices and policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage the design and construction of engineering projects to deliver a product or computer-based system through the design process and into a finished state for external customers, including gathering requirements, communicating expectations, training, driving adoption, and troubleshooting to deliver expected measurable outcomes.
  • Direct day-to-day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, risk identification, issue resolution, and accountability for deliverables across multiple functional organizations.
  • Establish meaningful metrics; manage project performance, risk, budgeting, financial management, forecasting and issue resolution.
  • Provide PBI support to maintain dashboards and ongoing maintenance of ML models.
  • Lead and perform quality assurance documentation and testing; drive and approve QA activities.
  • Drive and support audit readiness of QA processes related to ML and AI, and represent processes in front room.
  • Perform low-code or prompt development for business processes.
  • Create financial business cases and manage program costs and savings.
  • Act as IT liaison to ensure access requests and tickets progress as needed.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree with 3 years of experience
Nice to Have
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience transforming business processes, such as complaint handling, change control, and CAPA
  • Experience creating no-code AI models and enabling broad adoption
  • Previous experience in regulated industries (e.g., Medtronic) or similar settings
  • Program management skills including milestone tracking, process improvement, and AI/ML performance monitoring
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar methodology background with ability to align technical solutions to business needs

Benefits & Compensation

Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package. The base salary range for U.S. locations (excludes PR) is $140,800.00 - $211,200.00. This position is eligible for the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, savings accounts, life insurance, disability leave, retirement plans, paid time off, holidays, and more.
