Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test in Fridley, MN to lead automated verification for web, mobile, and cloud-connected applications. You will partner with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, build scalable automation, and ensure compliant software development throughout the product lifecycle.

This role requires strong experience in automated testing, test artifacts, and CI/CD, with familiarity across Java, JavaScript, and Kotlin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of software development, software test engineering, or quality engineering experience OR Master's degree with 2+ years of software development, software test engineering, or quality engineering experience OR Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated software verification solutions across web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
• Define test strategies, verification plans, release criteria, and risk-based testing approaches aligned with product and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain reusable test frameworks, automation assets, and test infrastructure to improve quality and efficiency.
• Translate business, system, and software requirements into traceable test designs, test cases, and objective verification evidence.
• Validate end-to-end application behavior, including user interfaces, APIs, databases, microservices, and integrated workflows.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates for software releases.
• Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions across software and test environments.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices, tools, standards, and processes.
