Job summary

JLL is seeking a Sr. Critical Environment Manager in the Oakland area to oversee a team of engineers responsible for planning, maintaining, and improving facilities systems in critical environments.

You will lead projects, guide onsite technicians, and ensure safe, compliant operation of HVAC and related infrastructure. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and delivery of high-quality maintenance solutions in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in relatable technical fields with experience in HVAC, clean rooms, lab space, or critical environment
• 2+ years of management experience including at least one year in property or facilities management, and demonstrated leadership experience
• Experience with controls and HVAC troubleshooting
• Strong initiative, customer service oriented, and ability to function as part of a complex team
• Budget preparation, vendor management and administration experience required
• Worked within lab and cleanroom environments (recommended)
• Experience working within high stress and demanding environments
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Team Management: provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the engineering team; set clear objectives and responsibilities; foster a collaborative culture.
• Project Management: collaborate with cross-functional teams, plan and manage projects, allocate resources, schedule and budget; monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Technical Expertise: stay updated with emerging technologies; provide guidance and ensure robust, scalable solutions; conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards.
• Process Improvement: identify opportunities for optimization; enforce engineering best practices and quality standards; drive continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Management: collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements; communicate updates and challenges clearly; build strong relationships for successful delivery.
