Job summary

STACK Infrastructure is seeking a Critical Operations Technician to support a local data center campus in Manassas, VA. You will operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Monitoring, and Control systems.

The role emphasizes safety, preventive maintenance, and efficiency, with potential on-call duties and occasional travel up to 5%. Must have 3–5 years in data center operations, strong knowledge of UPS, PDU, RPP, and fire life safety

Qualifications

• Must-have qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a data center or related mission-critical role.
• Experience with MS Office and data-center databases.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in high-stress situations.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical data center systems (UPS, PDU, RPP, chillers, CRAH/CRAC).
• Familiarity with NFPA standards and building codes for fire life safety.
• Navy Nuclear Engineering background preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain data center facilities systems across Electrical, Mechanical, Building Monitoring, and Control.
• Track and trend operational characteristics and provide feedback on standards.
• Assist with preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Manage maintenance discrepancies and coordinate issue resolution.
• Ensure data center operates at maximum efficiency and avoid outages.
• Coordinate power installations and upgrades.
• Utilize CMMS and manage equipment labeling and inventory.
• Provide day-to-day excellent customer service and incident reporting.
