Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks a highly skilled Critical Care Transport Paramedic to deliver high-acuity care during ground and air transports. You will assess, treat, and stabilize patients across stroke, STEMI, trauma, neonatal, and pediatric populations, under MEC guidelines and MIEMSS protocols.

Requires Maryland-licensed paramedics with national registration, and active BLS/ACLS; PALS or equivalent; CCEMTP or equivalent, with CCP-C or Flight Paramedic certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Current Nationally Registered Paramedic credential.
• Paramedic license issued by Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services.
• Active AHA BLS certification.
• Active AHA ACLS certification.
• PALS or equivalent certification.
• Completion of a critical care transport program (CCEMTP or equivalent).
• Will pursue CCP-C or Flight Paramedic certification within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate high-acuity critical care in transport settings.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify needs.
• Monitor and interpret patient data during transport and adjust care.
• Initiate life support therapies under physician guidance.
• Deliver accurate handoffs and reports to receiving teams.
• Engage in ongoing unit governance and process improvement.
