Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center's AirCare team seeks a Critical Care Paramedic to provide advanced emergency care during air and ground transports to our facilities and designated partners.

The role requires a CAHEA/CAHEP EMT-paramedic program, 3 years pre-hospital experience, and active NREMTP/MS Paramedic credentials, with strong ability to work under pressure and lift heavy loads safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with EMT-paramedic certification.
• Must complete CAHEA/CAHEP paramedic program and have 3 years pre-hospital experience.
• Weight handling limits and lifting requirements as stated in job posting.
• Valid driver’s license with NREMTP, MS Paramedic and MS Critical Care Paramedic credentials.
• Required BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP and NIMS ICS 100/700; BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS knowledge; FP-C/CCP-C required.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical and psychological comfort to patients during transport.
• Monitors patient condition and reactions to medications during transport.
• Interacts with pre-hospital and hospital staff to obtain patient details.
• Maintains and inventories transport equipment and supplies; reports failures.
• Precepts and orients colleagues and healthcare students as needed.
• Ensures regulatory compliance of patient care during transport and documentation.
