Job summary

FHLBank Topeka seeks a seasoned credit risk professional to analyze and review the creditworthiness of unsecured counterparties and vendors under FHFA regulations. You will monitor exposures, maintain ratings in FLAMES, and support risk-based credit actions while collaborating with Capital Markets and IT on system enhancements; occasional travel may be required.

You will engage in financial analysis, governance, and proactive risk mitigation to protect the bank’s balance sheet and reputation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience analyzing large financial institutions and brokers/dealers.
• Strong banking, securities, and accounting knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Advanced Excel; Cognos or similar reporting tools.
• Experience with Python, data mining, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Analyze creditworthiness of unsecured counterparties and monitor exposures.
• Prepare internal rating reviews and track market developments.
• Oversee vendor financial reviews under Vendor Risk Management.
• Maintain counterparty ratings, capital, and exposure limits in FLAMES.
• Calculate credit exposure impacts of new business activities.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automation.
