Job summary

FHLBank Topeka seeks an experienced professional to assess creditworthiness of unsecured counterparties and vendors. The role monitors exposures to stay within risk appetite and advises on credit line actions.

You will maintain counterparty ratings and support vendor reviews within the Vendor Risk Management Program. Responsibilities include evaluating market developments impacting investment and derivative exposures, performing internal rating reviews, and collaborating with Capital Markets and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Five or more years of related experience.
• Strong experience conducting financial analysis of large financial institutions and brokers/dealers.
• Solid understanding of banking, securities, and core accounting principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Cognos or similar reporting tools.
• Experience with Python, querying methods, data mining/data analytics, and Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• Ability to work and travel independently.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review the creditworthiness of unsecured counterparties and vendors.
• Monitor secured and other counterparties to ensure exposures remain within risk appetite.
• Identify adverse financial trends and support recommendations on credit line actions.
• Maintain counterparty credit ratings, capital, and exposure limits.
• Calculate credit exposure impacts related to prospective investment strategies and new business activities.
• Oversee vendor financial reviews and the Vendor Risk Management Program.
