Job summary

Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s Institutional Banking and Markets division in New York seeks a senior risk adviser to lead credit risk analysis for project finance and corporate clients. You will prepare submissions, advise on structuring, and manage risk decisions within a delegated framework.

You will monitor market developments, present insights at risk forums, and build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders while mentoring junior staff and driving process

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in credit risk management at a financial institution.
• 3-5 years of experience in project finance risk preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify and mitigate risks.
• Excellent communication with all levels of management and stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Work as the senior risk adviser in a deal team to analyse clients and structures and prepare credit submissions.
• Provide risk decisions or recommendations and guidance on deal structuring and policy adherence.
• Monitor market developments and industry trends and advise senior management on risk matters.
• Present transactions and industry reports at internal risk and business committees.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal units and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with risk teams to align risk management strategies across the organisation.
• Lead and mentor junior team members and drive process improvements.
