Job summary

BankWest - South Dakota is seeking a Credit Officer to collaborate with Lending and Credit Administration on loan approvals and monitoring. You will evaluate borrower creditworthiness, make decisions within approved limits, and support policy compliance with state and federal banking regulations.

The role includes backing up the Head of Credit, training staff, developing reports, and enhancing credit processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 10 years of Ag/Commercial lending experience and underwriting background.
• Strong credit and financial analysis skills; regulatory knowledge.
• Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively with internal/external customers.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve Ag/Commercial credit requests and related loan products.
• Collaborate on loan structure and monitor borrower financial status.
• Ensure documentation quality and compliance with loan policy and regulations.
• Oversee credit quality, address issues, and request additional information as needed.
• Support process improvements in credit analysis and lending forms.
