Job summary

Columbia Bank seeks an experienced CRE Underwriter to assess complex portfolio loans, including construction and bridge financing, and to support RMs in relationship growth. You will analyze market data, prepare credit narratives, and ensure accurate risk ratings and policy compliance.

You will monitor credit performance, coordinate with analysts, and contribute to robust risk mitigation while upholding bank standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of commercial underwriting/credit analysis experience.
• Experience with CRE products: construction, bridge, and permanent loans.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; strong credit quality capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites and prepares credit presentations for complex CRE loans with minimal supervision.
• Prepare timely, concise credit recommendations using risk rating models and documented facts.
• Monitor borrower performance and ensure covenant calculations align with loan documents.
• Collaborate with RMs and Analysts to communicate credit risk and mitigate exposures.
• Coach or mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulations.
