Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Portfolio Manager to jointly work with the Relationship Manager to meet clients’ CRE loan expectations and protect the Bank’s interests. You will oversee ongoing client portfolio monitoring, ensure timely reviews/renewals, and monitor covenants to maintain credit quality.

As part of deal teams you will structure, negotiate, and finalize loan documents, while pursuing cross-sell opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree, with focal areas of Commercial Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred.
• 7-10 years of proven experience in analysis, structuring, and negotiating Commercial Real Estate lending transactions for all investor owned property types, including loan documentation, loan closing, and construction draw administration.
• Minimum of 10 years in financial services industry experience in a corporate lending environment developing business.
• Commercial Credit Qualification with Limits.
• In-depth understanding of Commercial Real Estate Products, Commercial Real Estate Lending Process, Commercial Lending Directives, all supporting processes and technology.
• In-depth knowledge of the organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.
• Formal credit training and prior lending authority.
• Working knowledge of the organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.
• Working knowledge and ability to execute Risk Management practices and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee portfolio of Commercial Real Estate loans, including annual reviews, renewals, modifications, and monitoring.
• Coordinate lending proposals and pitches as part of deal teams to maximize penetration and returns.
• Negotiate transactions and loan documentation with clients.
• Ensure compliance with Bank policies, risk management guidelines and Know Your Customer rules.
• Monitor covenants and overall credit quality within assigned portfolio.
• Perform site inspections and maintain awareness of Bank products and services.
