Job summary

Fifth Third Bank in the Chicago area seeks a Principal for Commercial Real Estate who will develop and maintain a substantial CRE loan portfolio, cross-sell bank services, and oversee underwriting to ensure appropriate risk and profitability.

You will manage client relationships, drive revenue growth, and align offerings with customer needs while adhering to risk policies. This role may involve supervising associates and CAPs and requires strong credit and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Commercial Banking, Finance, or related experience.
• 2+ years of Commercial Real Estate experience and sales management preferred.
• Strong credit, corporate finance and underwriting skills required.
• Proven track record of success in originating and closing complex financial transactions.
• Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain profitable Commercial Real Estate loan volume.
• Develop intimate knowledge of customers and offer applicable 5/3rd products and services.
• Underwrite credit requests and approve real estate loans within lending limits.
• Ensure proper reporting, documentation and review of loans for acceptable risk.
• Develop relationships with peers, product partners and senior bankers.
• Travel as needed to manage opportunities and client relationships.
