Responsibilities
- Assists in the supervision of CASAC counselors (when assigned) and providing needed support during crisis. Senior counselors should be involved in the crisis intervention.
- Handles a small caseload, delivering all treatment components to assigned patients; providing both individual and group therapy.
- Ensures that the clients in their respective program, building or floor are supported throughout the day and works with the RSS and RSS supervisors on the day-to-day concerns.
- Participates in case conferences to assess patient progress, where needed; makes recommendations for changes in treatment planning and advancement to the next treatment level.
- Makes recommendations regarding program effectiveness and needed revisions to a program design and/or policies and procedures.
- Provides input for annual counselor performance evaluations for the Clinical Supervisor’s and/or Program Director’s review.
- Teach and train staff in the clinical aspects of a treatment, rendering individual training whenever necessary.
- Assist with the oversight of the CASAC intern program and training and onboarding.
- Medication monitoring.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Bachelors preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Independent license issued by NYS
- Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing, preferred
Required Experience
- Minimum three years of experience working with the substance use disorder population
- Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory role
