Job summary

Phoenix House of New York is seeking a Licensed Clinician to lead clinical quality, supervise staff, and shape treatment journeys for clients in recovery. You will coordinate across a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, compassionate care at every stage of the recovery process.

This leadership role requires a graduate degree and at least five years in substance use treatment, plus supervisory experience and familiarity with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
• Independent NYS license preferred; CASAC in good standing preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in substance use disorder treatment.

Responsibilities

• Assists clinical staff in developing treatment plans addressing mental health, substance use, education, and vocational rehab.
• Conducts regular interdisciplinary case conferences.
• Leads workshops and therapy sessions with clinical staff.
• Oversees patient case management with state/local agencies and partners.
• Reviews documentation and supports clinical and recovery programming across all treatment phases.
• Facilitates progression of patients through the treatment process.
• Collaborates to provide information/referrals during re-entry and discharge.

Responsibilities

• Assists clinical staff in the development of treatment plans, ensuring that such plans address all facets of a patient's treatment -- mental health, substance abuse, education and vocational rehabilitation.


• Conducts regular interdisciplinary case conferences.


• Conducts workshops and individual or group therapy sessions, as needed, in conjunction with other clinical staff.


• Works with counselors in all areas of their job functions and facilitates open, consistent, skill-focused clinical supervision and staff development, documenting as needed.


• Responsible for overseeing and coordinating overall patient case management with applicable state and local social services agencies, legal referral sources and resources, school-based stakeholders, and community-based providers of services, as needed.


• Reviews clinical documentation of staff; participates in or leads the clinical case review process; supports, monitors, and implements clinical and recovery support programming for all phases of treatment.


• Works with staff and patients to facilitate effective progression of patients through the treatment process.


• Works with counselors to ensure that patients receive appropriate information/referrals throughout the re-entry phase of the program and in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Independent license issued by NYS


• Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing, preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Minimum five years of experience working in substance use disorder treatment


• Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory role


• Familiarity with OASAS regulations and those of other relevant bodies (i.e. housing providers, Department of Social Services, etc.)
