Responsibilities
  • Provides individual counseling and treatment/recovery plan preparation, monitoring and review
  • Facilitates activities of daily living, community meetings, engagement, carrying out treatment planning in milieu
  • Provide therapeutic interactions to foster patients' social, cognitive and behavioral skill development
  • Provide supervision of milieu staff
  • Provide psychosocial interventions to teach skills for coping with urges, craving, impulsive behavior and cognitive distortions in thinking, motivational interviewing techniques
  • Provide individual, group and family counseling
  • Provide multi-family group counseling
  • Plan and facilitate interactions with residents within the milieu to build social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
  • Assisting in supervision of activities related to establishing a treatment environment
  • Prepare and maintain case records
  • Assist in the medication room in case of emergency
Job Details

Location: Long Island City Residential – Queens, NY
Position Type: Full Time – non‑exempt
Salary range: $20.48–$30.00 hourly
Job Shift: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm (facility is 24/7 365‑day operating)
Shuttle services are provided for staff, pick up and drop off to and from the train stations in Long Island City to make the commute easier and more convenient.

Shuttle service for staff operates during the following hours:

  • Morning: 6:30AM–10:00AM
  • Evening: 4:30PM–8:00PM
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

License/Certification: Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum two years in a behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment program.
  • Trained to dispense medications to clients in case of emergency.
