Qualifications

• J.D. and license to practice law in a U.S. state.
• 5+ years (8+ years preferred) of relevant legal experience in law firms, government, a trade association, and/or in house.
• Experience focusing on legislative and/or regulatory policy issues in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Comply with AbbVie policies and procedures.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of AbbVie’s business and changes in laws that affect client areas.
• Provide clear advice on federal and state laws, including the Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare and Medicaid, ACA, 340B, FDA regulations, OIG guidance, and others.
• Work with legal department managers to resolve complex legal matters and report progress.
• Help direct the work of outside counsel and manage projects.
• Work cross-functionally to align with law, policies, and AbbVie’s Code of Conduct.
