Qualifications

• J.D. with license to practice law in a U.S. state.
• Minimum 5+ years (8+ years preferred) of relevant experience in law, government, trade association, or in-house.
• Experience focused on legislative and/or regulatory policy issues in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement federal and state policy initiatives to support AbbVie's product access.
• Provide clear legal advice to Government Affairs and business clients on policy, laws, and regulations.
• Coordinate with Legal, Government Affairs, OEC and business leaders on strategic policy messaging.
• Direct work of outside counsel; define objectives and manage projects.
• Work cross-functionally to align solutions with laws, procedures, and AbbVie Code of Conduct.
• Monitor regulatory developments, advise on compliance and risk implications.
