Old National Bank seeks a Senior Counsel to provide legal and regulatory guidance to Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Financial Institution teams, as well as branch operations. The role emphasizes serving as a trusted advisor and delivering practical, risk-managed legal solutions.

The position requires extensive experience in financial services law, bar admission, and strong communication skills to support diverse bank businesses across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10–15 years' experience practicing law in a legal department of a financial institution or with a major law firm serving financial institutions.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the bar in our footprint states (IL/IN/MN preferred).
• Ability to apply sound legal analysis with practical business judgment balancing legal and business objectives.
• Ability to consult with and advise Bank management at all levels.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to deliver timely, high quality work product.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-focused team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Financial Institution teams and branch operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements and disclosures.
• Advise on product development initiatives, new payment technologies and digital banking for regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk and operations to develop policies and contract frameworks.
• Respond to inquiries from branches and operations with timely legal guidance.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting commercial banking and payment services.
