Old National Bank seeks a Senior Counsel for Treasury Management and General Banking to provide legal and regulatory guidance across treasury, merchant services and financial institution teams. The role emphasizes strategic partnership with business units, contract negotiation, and policy development.

The attorney will advise management, draft agreements, monitor regulatory changes, and lead legal projects while mentoring paralegals and coordinating with outside counsel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience practicing law in a legal department of a medium or large financial institution, or with a major law firm serving financial institutions.
• Admitted to practice and in good standing with the bar of a state in the footprint; preference for Illinois, Indiana or Minnesota.
• Ability to apply sound legal analysis and practical business judgment; provide timely, high-quality work product.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory advice to Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Financial Institutions teams and branches.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements and disclosures.
• Provide legal guidance for product development, new payment technologies, and digital banking to ensure compliance and risk management.
• Coordinate with compliance, risk and operations to develop policies and contract frameworks.
• Manage paralegals and outside counsel as needed.
• Monitor developments affecting commercial banking and payments; communicate implications to stakeholders.
