CenterPoint Energy, Inc. seeks a Senior Counsel, Transmission EPC Projects in Houston to advise on complex commercial agreements for electric transmission capital projects, focusing on EPC, construction, procurement, and related contracts.

This role supports a large-scale capital investment program and collaborates across legal, supply chain, engineering and operations. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of relevant experience, deep knowledge of EPC contracts, and the ability to shape contract

Qualifications

• Requires a J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience involving EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy, utility, industrial, procurement or other capital project contracts.
• Strong working knowledge of EPC contracts, construction, procurement and major equipment supply agreements.

Responsabilités

• Lead negotiation and risk assessment for EPC-related agreements.
• Draft, review and negotiate Master EPC agreements and related documents.
• Provide practical legal support during project execution, including change orders and claims.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on scopes, pricing, milestones and risk allocation.
• Identify risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
