• Federal judicial clerkship strongly preferred.

Unique opportunity with large, well-respected in-house legal department. This Houston-based position will support corporate strategy at a large public company in addition to managing complex, high stakes litigation and investigations. They will work with a high-performing, brilliant group of attorneys.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing strategic legal counsel to the corporate strategy function on matters of significance to the enterprise, including matters related to climate and sustainability
• Client counseling and disclosure risk management in alignment with enterprise strategy and governance expectations
• Driving legal support across multi-jurisdiction mandatory non-financial information disclosure workstreams
• Developing briefing papers and advising on materials and issues presented to internal governance forums and executive leadership
• Providing legal advice on policies, strategies and advocacy
• Monitoring and giving guidance on litigation and enforcement matters and trends as well as legal, regulatory, and standards developments that impact mandatory disclosures

What We Are Looking For:

• Juris Doctorate and bachelor’s degrees
• Admission to practice law in at least one state or the District of Columbia
• 5-15 years’ experience in complex litigation at AmLaw 200 firm
• Experience in the energy industry
• Federal judicial clerkship strongly preferred
