Job summary

Servier is seeking a Counsel - Contracting in Boston, a role centered on drafting and negotiating a wide range of U.S. contracts with an emphasis on R&D-related work. The role requires broad legal experience across functions and strong risk-aware guidance.

You will partner with internal clients to guide contracting decisions, improve workflows, and ensure regulatory and privacy considerations are integrated. A hybrid Boston-based work arrangement is expected.

Qualifications

• JD or LLM from a US law school.
• Bar admission in a US jurisdiction; Massachusetts In-House Counsel registration if not admitted in MA.
• 7+ years of relevant legal experience in biopharma, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to independently manage a high volume of contracting matters.
• Experience with Compliance topics is a plus.
• Tenure at a top-tier law firm is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-oriented contracting legal support across all U.S. functions, with emphasis on R&D contracting.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a broad range of agreements across business functions.
• Identify key risks and work with stakeholders to reach timely, risk-appropriate resolutions.
• Advise and educate business stakeholders on contracting pathways, confidentiality, indemnification, and term terms.
• Monitor, report on contracting matters to Senior Counsel and improve processes.
• Collaborate with clients to understand objectives, timelines, and risk tolerance.
• Elevate significant risks to senior stakeholders with mitigation strategies.
• Lead continuous improvement of templates, playbooks, workflows, and CLM processes.
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Procurement, and Finance and global teams.
