Job summary

Cor Partners, Inc. seeks a mid-level In-House Counsel to support four sister companies across professional liability and litigation. You will serve as the primary legal advisor to business leaders, manage litigation, oversee subpoenas, and coordinate with outside counsel to achieve strategic outcomes.

The role emphasizes governance, risk mitigation, and enterprise-wide process improvements, with collaboration across teams to align practices, improve efficiency, and protect enterprise reputation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• 10+ years in insurance services, claims handling, TPA, and/or expert services with a focus on professional liability.
• Experience in litigation management and insurance defense.
• Contract lifecycle management: drafting, reviewing, negotiating commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

• Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Own and oversee active and pending litigation, coordinating with outside counsel, carrier partner counsel, and internal stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.
• Prepare and defend our experts for depositions and attend mediations.
• Regulatory & Compliance: Respond to subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and document/file requests, determining appropriate scope of production while safeguarding privileged information.
• Risk Mitigation & Advisory: Provide proactive legal guidance on professional liability exposures and risk strategies tied to business operations.
• Process & Contracts: Review, draft, and provide input on negotiation of commercial contracts across business areas; develop and implement enterprise-wide legal processes.

A sign-on bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
