Job summary

Travelers’ Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI) Claims Counsel team seeks an experienced attorney to manage Accountants Professional Liability and Real Estate Professional Liability claims and litigation. You will provide legal guidance to underwriting and claim colleagues, and participate in BSI strategic initiatives.

The role requires a JD, active license, and 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with travel to mediations and court appearances as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate required.
• Licensed to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Two years of relevant legal experience.
• Ability to manage claims and litigation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims with supervision.
• Prepare reports reflecting loss development and exposure.
• Retain and monitor outside counsel with litigation plans and budgets.
• Communicate with underwriting on significant claim exposures.
• Identify recovery opportunities and coordinate with Recovery Management.
