Travelers Insurance is seeking an experienced Claims Counsel fulfilling a senior role in Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI). You will conduct thorough investigations, provide legal advice to underwriting, and support complex claims across surety, construction, financial institutions, and professional liability segments.

The role involves managing outside counsel, leading negotiations, and contributing to recovery strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance and superior customer service.

Competenze

• Six or more years of relevant legal or claim handling work experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate terms within designated authority.

Mansioni

• Analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims with limited supervision.
• Prepare management reports on loss development and exposure.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and manage litigation plans and budgets.
• Communicate significant claim exposures to underwriting teams.
• Identify recovery opportunities and coordinate with Recovery Management.
• Attend mediations, claim conferences, and depositions.
• Support underwriting marketing with risk mitigation materials and white papers.
