Job summary

Public Storage seeks an experienced Senior Counsel, Litigation & Operations to lead the company’s litigation strategy and serve as a key legal partner to field operations and cross-functional teams.

You will deliver proactive, risk-based guidance in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment while overseeing outside counsel and budgeting for legal matters.

The role requires a JD, Texas bar admission, 10+ years of experience, and strong judgment with a focus on litigation and business counseling.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Bar admission in Texas in good standing
• 10+ years of experience focused on litigation and/or business counseling
• Strong judgment, analytical ability, and communication skills
• Experience managing outside counsel and legal budgets
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• In-house experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all litigation, administrative matters, and other legal disputes.
• Develop strategy aligned with business objectives and risk tolerance.
• Translate lessons learned into pragmatic, business-minded guidance.
• Oversee outside counsel, including budgeting and performance.
• Represent the company in mediations and drive efficient resolution strategies.
• Provide day-to-day legal advice to field operations and business teams.
• Advise on compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Help manage regulatory risk in consumer protection, marketing, data privacy, and related areas.
• Manage litigation spend and support legal budgeting.
• Improve processes and leverage legal technology.
