Public Storage is seeking an accomplished real estate counsel with a strong background in acquisitions, development, and leasing to support our national portfolio. The role emphasizes hands-on negotiation, due diligence, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to close high-volume transactions.

The ideal candidate will bring a track record of leading complex real estate deals, mentoring teams, and using data-driven approaches to optimize spend and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of combined law firm and in-house real estate experience.
• Real estate and transactions focus required.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Experience with large portfolio transactions preferred.
• Active state Bar and eligible for in-house counsel license in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Lead real estate acquisitions and development deals, from LOI to closing.
• Prepare and negotiate purchase/sale, leases, and development agreements.
• Coordinate due diligence including title, surveys, zoning, and environmental matters.
• Support development teams on land use, entitlements, and permitting.
• Partner with leasing on cell tower, wireless, billboard, solar, and other leases.
• Mentor internal and external teams to support growth.
• Manage external counsel and control legal spend.
• Leverage technology tools including AI for high-volume tasks.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reporting to senior management.
