Job summary

Public Storage is seeking a capable and driven junior lawyer (3-5 years’ experience) to join our Legal Department as Counsel, Corporate and Joint Ventures. The Counsel will work on joint ventures, operating partnerships, and general corporate and securities matters, reporting to the Associate General Counsel – Corporate and Securities.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active CA or TX bar member or eligibility for in-house status.
• 3–5 years in general corporate, securities, and/or M&A law.
• Foundational law firm training; in-house experience a plus.
• Experience with REITs is a plus but not required.
• Strong oral and written communication, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support joint ventures, including interactions with counterparties and JV agreements.
• Advise on contractual rights; draft consents, amendments, and transfer docs.
• Collaborate with Acquisitions, Tax, Investor Services, Corporate Finance, and others.
• Support UPREIT operating partnership activities and investor admissions.
• Assist with governance, SEC reporting, and capital markets activities.
• Review contracts, perform due diligence, and advise cross-functional teams.
• Manage outside counsel and handle confidential information with discretion.
