Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Sr. Counsel, Commercial Transactions to lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of sophisticated insurance distribution arrangements and reinsurance transactions. This remote role supports collaboration with business partners to craft multi-party programs and complex commercial contracts.

The attorney will drive process improvements, advise on regulatory and operational risk, and contribute across the legal department. A J.D.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing in the state of residency.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant practice area.
• Substantial knowledge of current law and issues within area of specialty.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized, effective, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex insurance distribution arrangements, including agency and aggregator relationships.
• Advise on reinsurance transactions, including inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance.
• Structure complex, often multi-party insurance programs and commercial transactions, including fleet programs and fronting arrangements.
• Coordinate suites of interrelated agreements and help business partners translate novel business models into workable legal structures.
• Partner across the organization on strategic initiatives and contribute to other areas handled by the team.
