Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Sr. Counsel, Commercial Transactions—Remote, to structure and negotiate complex insurance distribution arrangements and reinsurance programs. You will partner with business teams to align legal risk with innovative business models and drive strategic initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate holds a U.S. JD with bar admission, 10+ years in a relevant practice area, and excels at clear written and verbal communication, organization, and efficient

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing in the state of residency.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant practice area.
• Substantial knowledge of current law and issues within area of specialty.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized, effective, and timely manner.
• Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex insurance distribution arrangements.
• Advise on reinsurance transactions, including inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance.
• Structure complex, multi-party insurance programs and commercial transactions and related agreements.
• Coordinate suites of interrelated agreements and translate business models into workable legal structures.
• Partner across the organization on strategic initiatives and contribute to other areas handled by the team.
• Participate in process-improvement initiatives and adoption of new tools for delivering legal services.
