Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a senior infrastructure transactions lawyer to lead commercial strategy and execution across its infrastructure portfolio. Based in San Francisco with a hybrid model, you will work closely with procurement, supply chain, partnerships, finance, and product teams to structure, negotiate, and manage critical agreements.

The role requires 8+ years in technology transactions, a JD and CA license, and experience in both in-house and top-tier firms. Relocation assistance is offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience in technology transactions and commercial contracting.
• JD and license to practice in California.
• In-house and top-tier law firm experience preferred.
• Experience with cross-border deals and global regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial legal strategy and risk management for OpenAI infrastructure transactions.
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex infrastructure agreements with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and partners.
• Support strategic partnerships involving AI infrastructure and hardware supply chains.
• Develop procurement, licensing, and collaboration frameworks across the ecosystem.
• Align contract terms with finance and operations requirements.
• Collaborate with policy and regulatory teams on global supply chains and export controls.
• Build scalable contracting processes to support rapid infrastructure development while managing risk.
