Job summary

OpenAI in San Francisco seeks a senior infrastructure transactions lawyer to lead commercial strategy and negotiations for OpenAI's infrastructure portfolio. This role partners with procurement, supply chain, partnerships, finance and product teams to structure, negotiate, and manage critical infrastructure transactions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience with a focus on technology transactions and commercial contracting.
• JD and license to practice in California (CA).
• Experience in both in-house and top-tier law firm environments.
• Experience negotiating infrastructure-related agreements, and cross-border deals.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial legal strategy and risk management for OpenAI infrastructure transactions.
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex agreements with infrastructure suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and technology partners.
• Support strategic partnerships involving AI infrastructure and hardware supply chains.
• Develop frameworks for procurement, licensing, and collaboration across the infrastructure ecosystem.
• Partner with finance and operations to align contract terms with business and compliance needs.
• Collaborate with policy/regulatory teams on global supply chains and export controls.
• Build scalable contracting processes to support fast infrastructure development while managing risk.
