Job summary

Cintas Corporation is seeking a Senior Counsel I – Government Contracts to join its Legal and Compliance Department. This role provides day-to-day legal support with a primary focus on government contracting, review, negotiation, and compliance across federal, state, and local entities.

You will serve as a trusted legal advisor to sales leadership and customer-facing teams, supporting public sector opportunities and helping manage legal risk while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree is required.
• Admitted to a state bar.
• 4+ years' full-time relevant legal experience.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel extensively and on very-short notice.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate new and renewed contracts with federal, state, and local government entities.
• Partner with customers and sales teams to support requests for proposals (RFPs) and other public sector opportunities.
• Provide legal guidance and support to sales leadership on government contracting matters.
• Assist in training sales partners on government contract terms, conditions, and requirements.
• Advise on contract compliance matters and support the implementation of process improvements, systems, and procedures.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting public sector contracting activities.
