Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom seeks a senior government affairs attorney to cultivate relationships with state attorneys general and federal officials, coordinating litigation opportunities and amicus briefs. The role involves traveling to events and conferences to advance strategic priorities.

The position requires a J.D., active bar admission, and substantial experience in both government and nonprofit/private practice settings, with a focus on multistate litigation and policy analysis.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and bar admission in at least one state; willingness to meet requirements in relevant jurisdiction within one year.
• 7 years of legal experience, preferably spanning government service and nonprofit/private practice.
• 2-5 years of experience with a state attorney general's office.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with state attorneys general and senior staff.
• Coordinate projects with AG offices, including multistate litigation opportunities and amicus briefs.
• Coordinate with federal officials on litigation and regulatory opportunities.
• Represent ADF at RAGA events and similar coalition activities.
• Monitor legal and policy developments at state and federal levels.
• Manage special projects requiring legal analysis and political awareness.
