Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom seeks a senior Government Affairs professional to cultivate relationships with state attorneys general and federal officials, advancing litigation opportunities and amicus work. You will support collaboration across AG offices and engage with coalitions at events.

The role requires 7+ years of legal experience, a J.D. with bar admission, and the ability to travel regularly for coalition activities and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active license in at least one US state bar; able to meet admission requirements within one year.
• 7 years of legal experience; preference for government service and private or nonprofit practice.
• 2–5 years of experience in a state attorney general's office.
• Judicial clerkship is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with state attorneys general and senior staff; engage with federal officials.
• Coordinate litigation opportunities and multistate amicus briefs with AG offices.
• Coordinate with federal officials on litigation and regulatory opportunities.
• Represent ADF at RAGA events and similar coalition gatherings.
• Monitor developments at state and federal levels relevant to ADF's priorities.
• Manage special projects for senior government and legal leadership, combining legal analysis and political awareness.
