Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Senior Counsel to provide comprehensive, risk-informed legal guidance across the full project lifecycle, including offer development, contract negotiation, project execution and dispute resolution. This role supports major nuclear projects and involves working with internal clients and managing outside counsel.

You will advise on megaproject contracts, teaming agreements, claims, and related issues, collaborating with commercial, engineering and operations

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 5–10+ years of experience representing clients in complex industrial/construction/procurement contract negotiations or high-value major project matters.
• Admission to practice in an appropriate US jurisdiction.
• Experience developing high-quality legal documents, including commercial agreements, letters and memoranda.
• Foreign language skills preferred.
• Prior in-house experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to commercial operations by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and financing agreements and strategic corporate alliances.
• Offer practical, risk-informed advice on complex commercial agreements, teaming agreements and joint ventures, including engineering services and feasibility studies.
• Represent Westinghouse in negotiations and disputes with utilities, project developers, vendors and others.
• Exercise strong negotiation and stakeholder management in an international environment.
• Supervise and manage external counsel as appropriate.
• Train and advise management on legal issues, compliance and risk mitigation.
• Travel domestically and internationally on an as-needed basis.
• Maintain alignment with the Westinghouse Ethics Code and update clients on legal developments.
