Job summary

The Estée Lauder Companies, a leader in prestige cosmetics and skincare, seeks a senior legal professional to advise on global marketing, advertising programs, and regulatory compliance across media platforms. Qualifications

• Cosmetic and/or OTC industry experience.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed in NY.
• 8+ years of marketing, advertising and administrative legal experience at AM Law 200 firm and/or Fortune 1000 company.
• Global experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of regulations/FTC and FDA compliance relating to cosmetic/OTC products.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel clients on global marketing and advertising programs in all media and formats.
• Review product and brand advertising claims and provide guidance on test protocols, consumer research, claim substantiation, and other data.
• Respond to and manage defense of advertising and regulatory litigation globally.
• Provide client education and training on relevant legal issues and develop processes to support marketing needs.
• Coordinate and manage outside law firms regarding litigation and government inquiries.
• Advise senior leadership to identify critical legal issues and provide feasible solutions.
• Exercise independent judgment related to company legal matters.
