Job summary

The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. is seeking a senior legal marketing counsel in New York to advise on global advertising programs, review claims, and support marketing with regulatory compliance across media.

The role requires a Juris Doctor degree, NY licensure, and 8+ years in marketing, advertising, and administrative law within cosmetics or Fortune 1000 settings. Competitive salary and bonus eligibility offered.

Qualifications

Cosmetic and/or OTC industry experience is required.
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required.
Licensed in NY is required.
8+ years of marketing, advertising and administrative legal experience at AM Law 200 firm and/or Fortune 1000 company preferred.
Global experience preferred.
Strong understanding of regulations/FTC and FDA compliance relating to cosmetics and OTC products is preferred.

Responsibilities

Advise and counsel clients on global marketing and advertising programs across all media.
Review advertising claims and provide guidance on test protocols and substantiation.
Respond to and manage defense of advertising and regulatory litigation globally.
Provide education and training on legal issues and develop processes to support marketing needs.
Coordinate and manage outside law firms for litigation and investigations.
Identify critical legal issues and provide analysis and range of possible solutions.
Exercise independent judgment on company legal matters.
