The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. in New York is seeking an experienced attorney to advise on global marketing and advertising programs across media.

You will review claims, guide test protocols, and ensure regulatory compliance for cosmetics and OTC products, working closely with Marketing, Product Development and R&D teams. You will coordinate outside counsel, educate stakeholders, and provide strategic legal options to senior leadership.

Qualifikationen

• Cosmetic/OTC industry experience.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New York.
• 8+ years of marketing, advertising and administrative legal experience at AM Law 200 firm and/or Fortune 1000 company.
• Global experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of regulations/FTC and FDA compliance relating to cosmetic, and over-the-counter drug products preferred; understanding of similar regulations outside of the US a plus.
• Ability to form strong relationships with business leaders and serve as a counterpart to the Marketing, Product Development and R&D teams.
• Ability to execute in a complex matrixed environment while setting boundaries.
• Possesses strong communication skills -written and spoken - and a highly-developed EQ; enjoys face-to-face interactions with business leaders and cross-functional partners.
• Willingness to learn global elements.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work in a team but also manage issues independently.
• Marketing savvy and strong creative thinking skills.

Aufgaben

• Advise and counsel clients on all issues related to global marketing and advertising programs in all media and formats including TV, print, digital/social, packaging, promotions, etc.
• Review product and brand advertising claims; review and provide guidance on test protocols, consumer research, claim substantiation, and other support data
• Respond to and manage defense of advertising and regulatory litigation, challenges and inquiries globally
• Provide client education and training on relevant legal issues, develop processes and forms to support business marketing needs and efficiencies
• Coordinate and manage outside law firms with respect to litigation, government inquiries and investigations
• Advise and consult with all levels of the organization including senior leadership to identify critical legal issues, assess potential legal options, and provide individuals and teams with an analysis and range of possible legal solutions
• Exercise independent judgment related to company legal matters
