We are seeking a dynamic and experienced US Legal Counsel to join a rapidly expanding international organization dedicated to data transparency. This organization plays a crucial role in providing open company data to a wide range of clients, including enterprise companies and regulatory bodies.
This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal issues in data privacy, SaaS, and revenue operations. You will be instrumental in supporting the organization's growth in the US market by providing expert legal advice and managing complex legal matters.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements and data licensing agreements.
- Provide expert legal counsel on US data privacy laws (CCPA, CPRA, GLBA, HIPAA) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Monitor and interpret US regulatory developments affecting commercial transactions.
- Manage legal risks related to contractual obligations and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, etc.) to structure deals and resolve legal issues.
- Advise on US business expansion, regulatory filings, and corporate governance.
- Develop and enhance contract templates and legal processes.
- Handle data incident responses and engage with data protection authorities.
Experience:
- US-qualified attorney with 5+ years of experience in B2B commercial contracts and US data privacy within tech/SaaS/data-driven organizations.
- Proven expertise in negotiating complex commercial contracts and advising on US privacy laws.
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration, data security, cloud services, and handling data incidents/regulatory engagements.
- Familiarity with setting up legal entities in the US and EU, and understanding of litigation, defence, and freedom of speech issues.
