Job summary

Cox is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to serve as a legal partner for sourcing, licensing, using, sharing, and governing data across Cox products, services, platforms, and operations.

The role involves negotiating inbound and outbound data licensing agreements, guiding data governance, privacy compliance, and risk management, and collaborating with product, technology, and analytics teams to enable data-driven solutions across Cox's businesses.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing; minimum six years negotiating complex data licensing agreements.
• Experience with data governance, privacy, technology transactions, product counseling, or related legal support preferred.
• Strong client counseling, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with business, product, and privacy teams.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements involving data access, data use, data sharing, or analytics.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely legal counsel on day-to-day and strategic data sourcing, licensing, usage, sharing, and commercialization.
• Draft, review, and negotiate inbound and outbound data licensing and data use terms.
• Manage legal support for data licensing transactions and governance reviews.
• Advise on privacy obligations, contractual restrictions, and regulatory risk in data initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to deliver efficient legal services.
