Cox Enterprises is seeking a Corporate Counsel specialized in data licensing and governance to serve as a legal partner across teams handling data sourcing, licensing, use, and sharing. The role will negotiate data licensing terms, support data governance, and ensure compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel for Cox Automotive's Data Strategy, Privacy and Cyber Security, you will work with product, technology, and business units to mitigate risk

Qualifications

• JD and active bar admission in at least one state; 3+ years of work experience.
• Minimum of six years negotiating complex data licensing agreements.
• Experience in data licensing, data governance, privacy, tech transactions, or product counseling preferred.
• Business-minded attorney with strong initiative and client-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely legal advice on data licensing, governance, and related commercial terms to data teams.
• Draft, review, and negotiate inbound/outbound data licensing and data-use agreements.
• Manage legal support for data licensing transactions and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Advise on compliance with data governance standards, privacy obligations, and regulatory risks.
• Engage with outside counsel efficiently and build strong internal relationships.
